Rowing

At the tail end of recovering from my seventh bout of (presumably viral) infection since moving to Amsterdam, I decided to explore the dark underbelly of the Amsterdam fast food industry. Which means I was going to take pictures of Febo and snack shops.

But that will wait for another time. Instead, I found a rowing event/competition on the river just a hundred meters from my door step.

Rowing is a popular pastime in Amsterdam. Teams of rowers were in the river, rain or shine, until it froze over in February. Rowing machines are in every gym I've been to, and rowing clubs are popular sporting and social groups.
